A gold crown gifted by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been stolen from the Jashoreshwari Kali temple in Shyamnagar, Satkhira. Modi dedicated the crown to the temple during his visit to Bangladesh in 2021. The theft of the crown was captured on CCTV, and In the video, a person is seen removing the crown from the head of the goddess.
India has expressed concern over the incident and urged the Bangladesh government to investigate and take prompt action. The Indian High Commission has also strongly reacted to this theft. The crown was religiously and culturally significant, as it was installed as a gift from Modi in one of the Shaktipeeth temples of Hinduism.
